Dermaplaning is a physical method of exfoliation, which helps to remove dead skin cells to reveal a softer, brighter complexion while ridding you of vellus (baby fine) hair. The vellus hair often causes a buildup of dirt and oils in the follicles. Removing the hair gives the client healthier looking skin and also allows the product to penetrate more readily into deeper layers of the skin. Dermaplaning is very beneficial for clients with rough, dry skin, superficial hyperpigmentation, mild acne scarring, or fine lines and wrinkles. The treatment results in a more refined, smooth, “glowing” appearance. We incorporate our dermaplaning into a full facial experience including, deep cleansing, extractions (if necessary), a lactic peel, nourishing mask suited for your specific skin type and finish with serums, moisturizers, and SPF.
What is dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a non-invasive procedure in which a blade is gently moved across dry skin on the face, removing dead cells and evening out rough, dry skin. Dermaplaning is generally painless and can be performed as often as twice per month. In addition to removing the rough outer portion of the dermis, dermaplaning also helps to remove unwanted vellus hairs, also known as ‘peach fuzz’.
